Tim Tebow seems to be getting into his baseball groove.
The Heisman Trophy winner has been on a hot streak the past few days, including hitting his first career triple Wednesday while going 3 for 4 for the Columbia Fireflies.
The result? Tebow’s batting average is up to .246. However, In the past six games, Tebow has had three multi-hit games while batting an impressive .450 (9 -for 20).
“There are some guys who do really good who get taken away from me halfway through the year,” Fireflies manager Jose Leger said, via The State. “Then there are guys that get taken away really early. It is hard to predict when it happens. A lot depends on what is happening in the level above. Whenever they decide it, he will be ready. He is just working hard, and we are going day by day.”
However, Betts maintained that there are no hard feelings from the two sides not being able to reach a mutual agreement on a contract figure.
“There’s is nothing bad, nothing going on,” Betts said of his new deal. “I still love everybody the same.”
Red Sox president Dave Dombrowski put the decision on Betts: “That was Cheap Hockey Jerseys Canada his choice, and we just couldn’t come up with a number that he thought was the right number for him.”
Betts, 24, is coming off a breakout 2016 season in which he hit .318/.363/.534 with 31 homers, 113 RBIs and 26 stolen bases and, interestingly, finished second to Trout in AL MVP voting.
His was one of 18 one-year contracts the Red Sox announced Thursday.
