Jimmy Butler challenges Clippers’ Lou Williams to 1-on-1 after tweet feud

Jimmy Butler doesn’t want to hear anyone questioning him for sitting out Sunday’s All-Star Game. In fact, he challenged Lou Williams to take him on one-on-one to prove he earned his All-Star bid.

Before Friday’s matchup with the Rockets, Butler spoke about how he got called out for accepting an All-Star bid but didn’t end up playing in the game.
It’s a tough blow for the Bucks, who also are missing Malcolm Brogdon (quadriceps tendon tear).

Now Milwaukee likely will be giving Xavier Munford, who was brought in Sunday from the Wisconsin Herd, more playing time.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, who also was battling an ankle sprain, will likely be ready for Tuesday’s game against the Knicks.

“But we know how we need to play to win. We know when what we’re doing isn’t good enough. We know when we’re not playing well, not playing as well as we can, and when we’re vulnerable. We know when we need to put our foot on the gas, to be peaking at the right time. Having won with this group is a big thing we have going for us.”

For doing that on his platform, someone got on her platform and told him he doesn’t deserve his.

As if a platform was hers to give. He’s got it, whether she likes that or not.

NBA fans have survived three days without basketball after Sunday’s All-Star Game, but Thursday marks the return of pro hoops and the start of the stretch run before the playoffs.

The conclusion of the All-Star break means it’s time to get ready for the league’s “second half,” but in reality, roughly one-third of the season schedule remains for all 30 teams. With that in mind, here are five things to watch as the 2017-18 regular season comes to a close.

The last time the Spurs won less than 50 games in a season was the lockout-shortened 1998-99 season in which only 50 games were played (their 37-13 record put them at a 61-win pace). San Antonio holds an NBA-record of 18 consecutive seasons of winning 50 or more games, including its 50-16 record in the 66-game Wholesale NFL Jerseys China 2011-12 season.

At 35-24, San Antonio is currently on pace to win fewer than 50 games Wholesale Jerseys China this season, and its 18-year streak is once again in jeopardy. Most recently, the Spurs were 32-24 in the 2009-10 season, but won 18 of their last 26 games to finish the season 50-32.
